Customer Testimonials
John & Georgina of Streatley Crafts have restored two pieces for us, both returned to their original glory and saved by Streatley Crafts from the scrap-heap.
Our (Antique?) bureau now has pride of place in the hall and looks as good as an old piece of furniture should!
Our inexpensive plate rack was really only fit for the bin but now, far from looking brand new, looks like a genuine piece of old furniture.
The ‘Pièce de résistance’ however is the two drawer coffee table (in a custom size to fit our lounge) that John made from scratch in American Oak. It’s exactly as we hoped it would be with inset brass handles and it’s beautifully finished in natural wax which accentuates the grain of the carefully selected wood.

June & I will have no hesitation in recommending John & Georgina for any restoration or ‘build from scratch’ project. Their craftsmanship is outstanding!
Thanks very much John & Georgina – we’ll be in touch for the next projectBest wishes,

To whomsoever it may concern,
John and Georgina Farrent have undertaken a variety of more-or-less challenging restoration and upholstery tasks for me, from family heirlooms to saleroom bargains. They have in each case applied their extensive knowledge and skills (including an awareness of what they do not know, and the research skills to fill any such gaps) to restore (and, where appropriate, upholster), Regency, Victorian and Edwardian furniture both sympathetically and beautifully.
I have no hesitation in recommending their work.

Tina and I met John and Georgina at the Bedford River Festival in 2008 when I needed a chair re-seating.
We were so impressed with the result that we commissioned Streatley Crafts to repair 8 other pieces of furniture that had suffered from two children and many parties in the 25 years.
They, like the chair, were returned in showroom condition together with a broad smile.
Who ever said craftsmanship and customer servicewere dead, clearly never met John and Georgina. These are people who care.
Nick and Tina, Rushden, Bedfordshire.
